Account Locked Out After Multiple Failed Login Attempts

If your Sprout account has been temporarily locked after several unsuccessful login attempts, don't worry — you can regain access on your own by waiting for the lockout to expire or resetting your password.

Here's how the prompt looks like:

Why This Happens

For security purposes, Sprout's Single Sign-On (SSO) system includes a brute-force protection feature. This automatically and temporarily locks an account after five consecutive failed login attempts, helping protect it from unauthorized access.

Important: The account lockout is temporary and resolves on its own. You do not need to submit a request to have your account unlocked.

How to Regain Access

Option 1: Wait and Retry

If your account has been locked, simply wait 5-10 minutes , then try logging in again using your correct credentials.

Option 2: Reset Your Password

If you're unable to recall your correct credentials:

  1. Use the Forgot Password option on the login page.
  2. A password reset link will be sent to your registered email address.
  3. Follow the instructions in the email to securely set a new password and regain access to your account.
