# Can Compensatory Time Off (CTO) Credits be Deleted or Manually Added?

This article provides guidance on the limitations of manual adjustments for Standard Compensatory Time Off (CTO) credits and offers alternative solutions for managing leave balances effectively.

Kindly be advised that the system **does not allow** for the manual addition or deletion of credits within the **Standard Compensatory Time Off** plan.

By design, CTO accruals are strictly automated; they are earned and updated based solely on approved **Overtime (OT) applications**. This ensures that the credits remain accurately tied to the actual overtime rendered by the employee.

If you have a requirement to manually adjust or award credits outside of the standard overtime accrual process, you may consider the following workarounds:

- **Utilize Existing Leave Plans:** You may add the credits to other existing leave types already assigned to the employee (such as Vacation or Sick Leave) if your company policy allows for it.
- **Create a Custom Leave Plan:** You can create a separate, dedicated leave type specifically for manual CTO adjustments. This allows you to track these credits independently from the automated system.
