# Employee Onboarding — FAQs: Tracking Progress

### How do we see where our new hires are?

The Onboarding page opens on **Key metrics** — total in onboarding, document completion, average time to activate, activated, overdue and at risk — with department and start-date filters across the top. Below them, the **Pipeline** bar breaks your new hires down by status, and selecting from it filters the table underneath, so you can go from a number straight to the people behind it.

### What does each onboarding status mean?

- **Pending invite** — created, not yet invited
- **On track** — invited, progressing normally
- **At risk** — starting in less than 3 days with the checklist less than 80% complete
- **Overdue** — past their start date and not yet activated
- **Ready** — every document dealt with and the HR details complete, so activation is available
- **Activated · Docs pending** — employee record created, but a required document is still outstanding
- **Activated** — employee record created in Sprout HR

### Where do hires from our recruitment system show up?

On your Command Centre onboarding list, alongside the new hires your team creates directly, with a **Source** column telling you where each record came from. They arrive **already created but not yet invited** — sending the invite is still your call, so nothing reaches the new hire until you do it. You're emailed when one turns up, and it appears on your To-Dos as an invite not yet sent. ### How do we keep track of what's waiting on us?

Your **To-Dos** page collects it in one list — documents to review, waivers to decide, outstanding documents to chase, and new hires ready to activate — across onboarding and offboarding together. ### Does any of this appear on the dashboard?

Yes — onboarding activity is summarised there, and the widget library includes onboarding tiles you can add yourself. See [Command Centre Basics — FAQs](https://guide.sprout.ph/command-centre-basics-faqs?hsLang=en) for how Customize works.

### Can we see who did what?

Yes. Every new hire has an **Activity** tab showing their own onboarding history, and there's a workspace-wide **Audit trail** under Automation → Workflow covering activity across all your workflows. Entries can't be edited or deleted by anyone; a correction is always added as a new entry. ### Can we look at a tile over a particular period?

On the Onboarding page, the filters sit at the top and apply to the whole page — department, and start date. Dashboard tiles have their own date filters; see [Command Centre Basics — FAQs.](https://guide.sprout.ph/command-centre-basics-faqs?hsLang=en)

### How do we find one new hire quickly?

Search by name, filter by department, source, or status, and sort the table by name, start date, or status.
