Sprout Payroll: Empty BIR Form 2316 Zipped Folder

If you download your bulk BIR Form 2316 files as a zipped folder from Sprout Payroll and find that the folder is completely empty, it is likely due to an invalid special character in an employee's last name.

The issue happens because these characters are invalid for file names generated by the system. As a result, the entire zipped folder downloads as empty.

The issue happens when the File Name includes any of the Unsupported Special Characters listed below:

Check your employee roster for these specific symbols:

• \ (Backslash)
• / (Forward slash)
• : (Colon)
• * (Asterisk)
• ? (Question mark)
• " (Double quote)
• < (Less than)
• > (Greater than)
• | (Pipe)

Make sure that the file name does not include any special characters mentioned above. Rename the file that was previously saved.
