Why is My Selected Course or Exam Not Launching?
Overview
If your selected course or exam does not launch after clicking it, this is most commonly caused by your browser blocking pop-up windows.
The Learning Center uses pop-up windows for certain actions, including launching courses and exams, exporting records, generating course and exam keys, and printing CU Bits. If pop-ups are blocked, these functions will not work as expected.
Why This Happens
Most modern browsers automatically block pop-up windows to protect users from unwanted content. While this is helpful for general browsing, it can prevent The Learning Center from opening required windows.
When this occurs:
-
You may click a course or exam and see no response.
-
There may be no visible error message.
-
The system may appear unresponsive even though it is functioning correctly.
How to Fix It
Step 1: Allow Pop-Ups in Your Browser
Update your browser settings to allow pop-ups for The Learning Center site.
For example, in Google Chrome:
-
Open Chrome settings.
-
Go to Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Pop-ups and redirects.
-
Add The Learning Center site to the Allowed list.
(Exact steps may vary slightly depending on your browser version.)
Step 2: Relaunch the Course or Exam
Once pop-ups are enabled:
-
Refresh the page.
-
Click the course or exam again to launch it.
