Why Work Schedules Fail to Update via Bulk Upload (Employee Information)

If you're using the Bulk Upload – Edit Employee file to change work schedules and the profiles aren't updating, here is the reason and how to fix it using the correct Sprout HR tools.

The Reason: Missing Effectivity Date

The primary issue is that the Bulk Upload – Edit Employee template lacks an "Effectivity Date" field for schedules.

• System Logic: While the system recognizes the new schedule you uploaded, it has no way to determine when that schedule should become active.
• Result: The absence of a required date tag means the schedule remains unchanged, even if the upload appears successful.

✅ The Correct Way to Update Schedules

Since the bulk edit file is not designed for dated schedule changes, use these dedicated Sprout HR tools:

1. For Setting a New Default Schedule (Future/Present)

Use methods that support Schedule Date-Tagging to define the specific start date for the new ongoing schedule.

2. For Adjusting Past Schedules (Historical Correction)

Use the dedicated mass adjustment tool to correct or override schedules for days that have already passed.
