Attendance Agent FAQs
What is the Attendance agent?
Attendance agent allows users to quickly access essential HR information such as personal work information and leave credits, and simplify HR tasks such as monitoring attendance logs and timekeeping in Sprout HR via chat.
- Leave credits: Check available leave credits.
- Attendance logs: View daily or weekly attendance reports.
- Timekeeping: Submit time entries (with human confirmation).
- Certificate of Attendance (COA) filing: File COA requests for missing attendance logs.
Why do I need the Attendance agent?
Attendance agent makes it easy to manage your HR needs without navigating multiple menus or systems. You can quickly view your salary history, track leave credits, monitor attendance logs, and even submit time entries—all through a simple chat, saving you time and effort.
How does the Attendance agent work?
Attendance agent works like your personal HR assistant in chat form. Just type your request—like checking leave credits, viewing attendance logs, or submitting a time entry, and it will pull the information or process the task for you, with human confirmation when needed.
Can I use the Attendance agent if I don’t have Sprout Payroll?
Yes! Attendance agent works even if you only have Sprout HR (half sync), and it also works if you have both Sprout HR and Payroll (full sync). It won’t work if you don’t have Sprout HR, though.
What are the limitations of the Attendance agent?
Currently, Attendance agent has a few limitations:
- Aside from getting information from Sprout HR, Attendance agent can only execute timekeeping tasks (clocking in or out) and COA filing. Take note that when clocking in or out via HR or Mobile, it won’t log your location.
- It can only retrieve your own HR information, so, for example, your manager can’t request your employee information.

Certificate of Attendance (COA) Filing
What can I do with COA filing in the Attendance agent?
You can file a Certificate of Attendance (COA) for single or multiple days, or even for half days via Sidekick. You can also file for rest days, holidays, past, or future dates, depending on your company’s policy settings.
Can I check the status of my COA requests?
Yes! You can easily view all your pending, approved, and rejected COA requests via Sidekick. However, the list of cancelled COA requests isn’t available at the moment.
Can I attach files or documents to my COA request?
No, attachments aren’t supported in Sidekick yet.
Why can’t I file a COA right now?
COA filing isn’t allowed when the timesheet is locked. Requests for dates within the current cutoff will be automatically rejected.
Can I cancel a COA request after submitting it?
Not yet. COA cancellation isn’t supported in Sidekick for now.
