Bulk Upload: Resolving Date Format Issues
Overview
When using Bulk Upload templates, the date format in the file may be affected by your Computer/ Laptop's regional settings. Although the template is designed to use the MM/DD/YYYY format, spreadsheet applications such as Excel may automatically display or convert dates based on your device's configured date format.
Why This Happens?
The Bulk Upload Template follows the standard date format:
MM/DD/YYYY
However, if your computer/ laptop's regional settings use a different format, such as:
DD/MM/YYYY
Excel may automatically interpret or display dates according to your local settings. This can result in dates appearing differently in the template and may cause incorrect values to be uploaded.
How to Prevent Date Format Issues
To avoid discrepancies in date formatting during bulk uploads, you may follow either of the options below:
Option 1: Adjust the Bulk Upload Template
Manually update the date entries in your bulk upload file to match your computer’s current date format.
Option 2: Update Your Device Date Format
Change your computer or laptop’s regional date settings to: MM/DD/YYYY
This ensures consistency between your system settings and the required bulk upload format.
Correcting Uploaded Dates
If incorrect date formats have already been uploaded, you can correct them using either of the following:
- Update the employee records directly via the Employee Profile
- Re-upload corrected data using the Bulk Upload Template
