Clock In/Out on Mobile

Your time, your way, through Mobile Bundy.

This feature lets you clock in and out using the Sprout Mobile App, giving you the flexibility to log your attendance wherever you are. It mirrors the Web Bundy experience in Sprout HR, making timekeeping simple, convenient, and always accessible.

Clocking In / Out

On the Sprout Mobile App home screen, the Clock In and Clock Out buttons are located at the bottom, making it easy to log your time with just a tap.

Note that Mobile Bundy, or the ability to Clock In/Out is not enabled by default.

If you want this feature enabled, you may coordinate with your HR Admin so they can coordinate with your company’s assigned Customer Success Manager or our Support Team

Clock In/Out with and without Geotagging or Geofencing

The Mobile Bundy (Clock In/Out) feature in the Sprout Mobile App allows employees to log their time wherever they are.

Unlike Web Bundy, Mobile Bundy introduces two location-based capabilities: Geotagging and Geofencing. These settings are configured in Sprout HR and applied per department.

Note that only one clocking method can be enabled per department. Example:

  • Department A → Geotag
  • Department B → Geofence

What’s the difference between Geotag and Geofence?

1. Geotag

Geotag allows employees to clock in/out from any location.

  • The app automatically captures their current location.
  • The location name appears in the Location Name Bar before logging, so employees can confirm the correct location is detected.

Notes for Geotag users:

  • The location pin updates every 100 meters, and this update is reflected in the Location Name Bar.

2. Geofence

  • Geofence restricts clocking in/out to specific company-defined locations.
  • Employees can clock in/out only when they are inside the assigned geofenced radius.
  • If their device pin is outside the fence, the Clock In/Out button will be disabled.

Clocking In/Out for Geofence Users

Single Geofence

If an employee is assigned to only one geofence:

  • The geofence location name can be tapped to show or refresh the assigned location on the Clock In/Out page, similar to the aforementioned above.

Multiple Geofences

If an employee is assigned to multiple geofences:

  • The app will detect overlapping geofence locations.
  • Tapping the Location Name Bar will show all overlapping geofences the employee is currently within.
  • Only locations that overlap the employee’s current position will appear.

Reminders for Geofence & Geotag Users

  • The Location Name Bar can be used to refresh/update the employee’s current detected location.
  • Actual location detection may not be 100% accurate due to GPS limitations and network connectivity.
  • The live clock shown in the mobile app is for display only — it does not affect biometric logs.
  • If your location changes while viewing the map, tap the Location Name Bar to confirm whether you’re still within the geofence.
