Future-Dated Resignation: Overview
With the new Future-Dated Tagging of Resignation feature, Admins and Managers can now update an employee’s status to ‘Resigned’ ahead of the actual resignation date—once the resignation is accepted—without affecting the employee’s system access until the separation date arrives.
Previously, resignation dates had to be manually tracked, requiring Admins to maintain a separate tracker to tag employees as resigned on the correct date. Now, this process can be handled directly in the Work Information section of the system.
⚠️ Note: This enhancement currently applies only to manual updates. Bulk Upload support is not yet available. We’ll keep you posted once this functionality is added.
Key Improvements:
-
You can now tag the employee as ‘Resigned’ early, and their system access will remain active until the Expected Separation Date is reached.
-
Once the date arrives, the system will automatically revoke access and update the Employment Status to ‘Resigned’.
-
The behavior of resigned employee profiles remains the same:
-
For Employees: All access will be revoked after the separation date.
-
For Admins: Reports and attendance applications (e.g., Leave, COA, OB) can no longer be generated unless the status is temporarily changed back to Probationary.
-
Important Date Guidelines:
-
The Expected Separation Date should be one day after the employee’s last working day.
-
Example: If the resignation date is March 10, 2022, set the Expected Separation Date to March 11, 2022.
-
What’s the difference between Expected Separation Date and Separation Date?
-
Expected Separation Date: Indicates that the employee is under a notice period. The employee remains active until this date, after which the status auto-updates to Resigned.
-
Separation Date: Auto-filled by the system once the Employment Status changes to Resigned, marking the official end of employment.
