How do I update Departments in Sprout HR

Sprout HR and Payroll syncing is finally happening! With this, we need to ensure that all the departments in your company should be both present in Sprout Payroll and Sprout HR. Otherwise, you’ll get an error message stating that the “Department is not in database."  If you have a department which you have already added in Sprout HR but did not sync in Payroll, here are some possible causes:
 
  1. department was added before the payroll database was added in the HR account or;

  2. department name or code is mismatched in Sprout HR and Sprout Payroll

To prevent from getting any of these errors, the department name needs to be updated. Doing so will allow the system to refresh and resync the existing departments in HR to Payroll.

Here’s how:
 
  1. On the Admin dashboard, go to the Maintenance tab and select Company from the drop-down list that appears.

 

 
 

2. If you have more than one company in your account setup, make sure to select the correct one from the search bar on the upper portion of the page.

 

 

3. Click on the Departments tab.

 

4. Click on the edit button in orange. From there, the system would allow you to edit the name and code.

5. Click on the Save button to save the changes you made.
