How to Add Memo in Employee Profile?
A memo is a document typically used for communication within a company. It is a handy tool specially used to remind employees to adhere to a certain rule, or to issue disciplinary actions to an employee. If you want to add/save an issued memo in 201 files for documentation on Sprout HR, follow the steps below:
- On your dashboard, search for the name of the employee you wish to view.
- From the employee profile scroll down a bit and look for the memo. tab Then click Add memo button and fill out the necessary fields.
- Definition of terms:

DA type or Disciplinary Action:
- Termination: Issued to an employee who committed repeated major deviations or grave deviations
- Suspension: Issued to an employee who committed major deviation; places an employee on a temporary unpaid status; staggered suspension only allowed when necessary due to business exigencies
- Written Reprimand: Issued to an employee who committed minor deviations or who has had received a verbal reprimand'
- Verbal Reprimand: Issued to an employee who committed minor deviations; documented in writing.
- Issued to an employee who committed repeated major deviations or grave deviations
Infraction/Violation Category: Basically it's the type of violation. Example: Tardiness= violation in attendance or not meeting the metrics= violation in the scorecard
Date served and received: The date when the memo was provided and accepted
Slide date: The date when the explanation letter was submitted.
