Right now, our Sprout Mobile Application no longer has a location spoofing blocker. In the past, we have implemented preventive measures for GPS emulators where users would receive the below prompts when using third-party applications:
However, issues seen during our testing have affected other applications that require location permission, which we cannot prevent our users from installing.
Thus, solely focusing on location spoofing preventive measures is not guaranteed to be an optimal solution for now, especially since new GPS emulators that use different methods of location mocking are released every day.
Given the above, we came up with a solution that lets the users know when a clock in/out via Sprout Mobile App is mocked which is displayed on the Attendance Management. Please see the sample below:
