OTP Generator in Sprout HR Mobile
The Sprout Mobile OTP Generator allows users to receive one-time passwords (OTPs) directly within the Sprout HR mobile application. This method provides a faster, more reliable, and more secure alternative to receiving OTPs via SMS or email, which can sometimes be delayed or blocked by network issues.
By using the Mobile OTP Generator, users gain:
- Improved accessibility – No more relying on telecom or email delivery speeds.
- Better security – OTP is delivered via your authenticated mobile app session.
- Extra usability features – Countdown timers, re-request options, and push notifications.
Prerequisites
Before enabling Mobile OTP, ensure:
- Your organization has requested Mobile OTP Generator enablement from Sprout.

Enabling Mobile OTP for Access Levels
Once the Mobile OTP Generator feature is enabled for your account by Sprout:
- Log in to the Sprout HR Web Dashboard as an Admin.
- Go to Maintenance → Access Levels.
- Select an existing Access Level to edit, or create a new one:
- Find the option OTP (Mobile) as seen below:

- Select the Enable button.

Why is Mobile OTP Configuration via Access Levels?
Mobile OTP is controlled through Access Levels to ensure security is tailored by role. This way, Admins can choose which users or dashboard types require mobile OTP, helping organizations balance security requirements with user convenience.
Note: Mobile OTP will only work for users assigned to Access Levels where it has been enabled. If you do not see the Mobile OTP option, contact your Customer Success Manager or email experts@sprout.ph for assistance.
