Single Sign On: How to Update Company Names in Sprout Payroll?

Company names in Sprout Payroll cannot be changed directly by users because Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled and must be updated through a backend process. Clients need to submit a Change Request Form to have the company name updated.

Scenario

A client needs to update the company names associated with one or more company codes in Sprout Payroll. The changes cannot be made directly through the front-end interface, especially when Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled between Sprout HR and Sprout Payroll.

Resolution

  1. Submit a Change Request Form providing the relevant company codes and the corresponding new company names.
  2. If your Sprout HR account is also linked via Single Sign-On, note that the company name in HR should be updated directly in Sprout HR.
  3. Sprout Support will process the Sprout Payroll update on the backend and confirm once completed.

Summary

When SSO is enabled, Sprout HR and Sprout Payroll accounts are linked. Company name changes in Sprout Payroll must be handled on the backend by Sprout Support. Clients should ensure they provide accurate company codes and new company names in the Change Request Form to avoid delays.
