SSO: Password Expiry Settings

Overview

To help maintain account security, the system enforces a password expiration policy. By default, all user passwords are configured to expire every 60 days, prompting users to update their passwords regularly.

Default Password Expiry Period

The standard password expiry setting is:

  • 60 days from the date the password was last changed

Once the password reaches its expiration date, the user will be required to create a new password before accessing the system.

Can the Password Expiry Period Be Changed?

Yes. While the system is configured with a default 60-day password expiry period, organizations may request a different expiry interval based on their internal security policies and operational requirements.

Important Security Consideration

The default 60-day password expiration policy is designed to support best security practices by reducing the risk of unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials. For this reason, modifying the default setting is generally not recommended unless there is a specific business requirement.

Requesting a Change

If your organization would like to update the password expiry period, a Change Request Form (CRF) must be submitted.

Please ensure the CRF includes:

  • The number of days between required password changes
  • Any relevant business justification (if applicable)

Once the request is received and reviewed, the appropriate team will evaluate and process the configuration change.
