Why Your 13th-Month Pay May Be Missing from Your Final Pay?

Finding that the 13th-month pay is missing during a final pay run in Sprout HR can be stressful, especially with the 30-day legal deadline approaching. Before resorting to manual calculations, this article explains a common reason why an employee’s 13th-month pay may not be automatically included in the final pay computation.

Based on BIR guidelines, an employee must have rendered at least 30 days (or one month) of service within a calendar year to be eligible for 13th-month pay. If an employee’s last working day is March 16, 2026, their total days worked for that year would be fewer than 30 days, meaning they do not meet the minimum requirement.

If the employee did not complete at least 30 calendar days of service within the year, they are not eligible for 13th-month pay.

If you still wish to grant a prorated 13th-month pay, you may do so by adding it through a One-Time Adjustment.
