Will a Course or Exam Timeout if a Learner is Interrupted?

Overview

Yes. Learning Center courses and exams will automatically time out after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity. This timeout may not always be obvious to the learner while they are away from the session.

If a learner resumes a course or exam after being inactive for more than 20 minutes, their progress and results will not be recorded.

What This Means for Learners

  • The system does not save responses after a timeout occurs.

  • Learners may continue answering questions without realizing that the session has already expired.

  • Any progress made after the timeout will not be captured or reflected in the results.

Best Practice Recommendation

To avoid losing progress, we strongly recommend that learners:

  • Start a course or exam only when they can focus without interruptions.

  • Allocate at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time before beginning.

This helps ensure that the session is completed within the allowed timeframe and that results are successfully recorded.
