Does Leave Without Pay Appear in Your Leave Ledger?
Overview
If you notice that a Leave Without Pay (LWOP) or Unpaid Leave transaction is not reflected in an employee's Leave Ledger, this is the expected system behavior.
Why Doesn't Leave Without Pay Appear in the Leave Ledger?
The Leave Ledger in Sprout HR is designed to display paid leave transactions that affect an employee's available leave credits. Since Leave Without Pay (LWOP) does not consume any leave credits, it is not recorded in the Leave Ledger.
In summary:
- Paid Leave (e.g., Vacation Leave, Sick Leave) → Displayed in the Leave Ledger because it deducts from the employee's leave balance.
- Leave Without Pay (LWOP) / Unpaid Leave → Not displayed in the Leave Ledger because it does not impact the employee's leave credits.
Where Can I View Leave Without Pay Transactions?
To review both paid and unpaid leave transactions, admins and managers can generate the Leave Report.

Summary
The absence of Leave Without Pay in the Leave Ledger is expected behavior. Since unpaid leave does not deduct from an employee's leave credits, it is excluded from the ledger. To view both paid and unpaid leave records, use the Leave Report instead.
