Pro-Tip When Adding Regular Employees to Sprout HR

As you may know, employees can be added either through the Bulk Upload page or the Administration Tools. If you’re not too familiar with these options, feel free to check out the articles below for a quick refresher:

However, have you ever encountered a situation where you added a regular employee, but their leave credit accruals didn’t reflect as expected?

That’s because they need to be initially added to the system as Probationary employees! However, this only applies to leave policies that have separate rules for probationary and regular statuses. Once you update the Employment Status from Probationary to Regular, the system will then apply the leave rules intended for regular employees.

Once they are added to the system as Probationary employees, you may now change the Employment Status on their Employee Profiles to Regular and affix the correct regularization date. There you have it! A neat little trick that'll save you from manual labor!

Note: You may only be able to add employees as Regular via Bulk Upload but upon doing so, the Employment Status on the Employee Profile should still be changed in order to trigger the leave accruals for regular employees.
